Gunman Shoots at Least 5 People Outside Dollar General in Germantown – NBC 10 Philadelphia

At least five people were taken to the hospital following a drive-by shooting outside a shopping center in the Germantown section of Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon.

The victims, ages 19 through 23, were outside a Dollar General store on Germantown Avenue and Wister Street around 3 p.m. when a white Chevrolet Impala pulled up in front of them, police said.

At least two gunmen inside the vehicle fired 18 shots. One of the victims was shot in the head. The other four were shot in the hands, arms and foot.

All five victims were taken to the hospital. Police say the victim who was shot in the head is in the most serious condition.

Officials have not yet released a description of the suspects.

“I can assure you it’s about something stupid. Just like most things are,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross said. “But right now we’ve got a lot of unanswered questions.”

If you have any information on the shooting, please call Philadelphia police.
