Compared to other VPNs, the one with Google One focuses more on privacy and security. An upcoming update to Google One VPN will allow you to better obfuscate your location using a “wider IP address region.”
About APK Insight: In this “APK Insight” post, we have decompiled the latest version of an application uploaded by Google to the Play Store. When we decompile these files (called APKs, in the case of Android apps), we see various lines of code within that hint at possible future features. Note that Google may or may not ever ship these features, and our interpretation of what they are may be imperfect. We’ll try to run the near-finished ones, though, to show you what they’ll look like once they ship. With that in mind, read on.

While the latest update to the Google One app is rolling out widely today through the Play Storethis broader VPN option isn’t live yet and likely requires a server-side component.
In March, Google made the VPN available to all paying subscribers, including the $1.99/month plan, after limiting it to a $9.99/month offering. Subsequently Google One VPN became a perk for Pixel buyers.
