A woman in the United States was arrested after she assaulted three airport officials when they took her apple juice, according to arrest documents, citing the Independent. Makiah Coleman, age 19, attacked Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on April 25 as he was going through security.
According to court records, Ms Coleman became agitated when security agents took her apple juice while she was undergoing a security check. It should be noted that carrying liquids in large quantities is not permitted on flights. According to the report, the 19-year-old began screaming as he attempted to retrieve the juice from the trash bin but was stopped by a TSA officer.
According to the outlet, Ms Coleman got into a fight with other police officers. He bit one agent, elbowed and hit another in the head, and grabbed the tail of a third. Within minutes, Phoenix police arrived on the scene and arrested Ms Coleman.
The 19-year-old is being held on $4,500 (Rs 3.6 lakh) bond and is currently charged with “multiple misdemeanor assault charges, one count of criminal damage and one low-level felony count of aggravated assault”.
Officials said the two TSA agents were taken to the hospital “to be treated for unspecified injuries” but were released immediately.
TSA Administrator David Pekoske said in a statement, “This senseless and senseless physical attack against our employees is unacceptable. We are grateful to our dedicated workforce and the role they play in protecting the traveling public every day. Unfortunately, due to the actions of this traveler, this situation resulted in injuries to three of our TSA officers and inconvenienced approximately 450 travelers -redirected by TSA to a nearby checkpoint for security screening.”
