He said the first-year plan calls for a complete renovation of the main entry, including a new children’s area and new slides in the slide tower. The second year of the plan involves replacing and realigning the wave pool, expanding and upgrading the lazy river , adding new speed slides and adding a surfing attraction, Dooner said. The three-year plan calls for adding “a massive family raft attraction.” Additionally, plans include upgrading all dining and retail options. Dooner said Silverwood will release a new rendering for the water park at the State Fair next month. Dooner previously said the company will look into making the Cal Expo-based water park a year-round operation to keep staff employed year-round and create more job opportunities.” Our first goal is to do a real ‘physical’ of the park and see how the bones are what needs to be done so we can schedule everything appropriately,” Dooner said in February. Operators for Raging Waters announced last year that the park would not reopen until 2023. Palace Entertainment, which operated the site for 15 years, chose to end its lease. Silverwood is based in the Thousand Oaks area of Ventura County and was founded in 2019. The company, according to its website, focuses on sports, entertainment, gaming and social centers.
