The removal of the 50th Anniversary decorations that adorn Cinderella Castle begins this weekend, as the “World’s Most Magical Celebration” comes to a close at Walt Disney World.
All 50th Anniversary decorations are expected to be removed from the four Walt Disney World Resort parks as the 18-month celebration draws to a close. As part of the first episode this weekend, visitors can see the 50th Anniversary medallion removed and the clock turn back at Cinderella Castle. Disney has announced that the celebratory embellishments will be removed from the stages starting this weekend.
Cinderella Castle’s transformation into a “Beacon of Magic” brings new life to the Magic Kingdom icon with “Disney Enchantment”, a new fireworks spectacular that replaces “Happily Ever After” at the Magic Kingdom , which debuted as part of the festival. Nearly a year after its debut, “Disney Enchantment” added a new sequence to celebrate Walt Disney and his brother Roy, following rave feedback from guests.

At least for now, the castle’s latest “EARidescent” repaint is expected to remain when the bunting, turret jewels, and 50th Anniversary medallion are removed from Cinderella Castle. Many of the 50th anniversary decorations have been removed from Main Street, USA as “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” draws to a close. We saw the first decorations removed at the beginning of March.
The 50th anniversary celebration at Walt Disney World officially ends today, March 31, 2023. The Golden Fab 50 statues will remain after the festivities and are not expected to be removed anytime soon.
