Brittany Snow is opening up about one of the “toughest mental health challenges” she’s faced in the past year and how she turned to her friends for support.
While Snow doesn’t reveal too many details, the American Dreams The alum filed for divorce in January of this year from husband of two years Tyler Stanaland. The couple had announced they were separating four months earlier amid drama arising from the Netflix reality series Selling OC.
“Over the past year, I have gone through perhaps the most difficult mental health challenges I have ever faced. In one day, in a matter of hours, my life completely fell apart,” Snow said Bust. “I was blinded and everything I thought I knew, held sacred and truly trusted in my life was completely different.”
Snow continued, “A few days later my grandmother passed away and I think everything I knew about mental health was put to the test. Thank god for my friends. I don’t know if I could have done it without them. They remind me of who I am and the things I stand for. I used all the tools I knew. All of them.”
The actor said it was one of his own Pitch Perfect co-stars who helped him through the difficult process he was facing.
“The last year was really confusing for me, and one of the girls, I just, you know, opened her door and I just fell on the ground and cried and laid there,” she added. “And he basically nursed me back to health in four days. And that’s not even what I thought I could do.”
Snow did not name the costar who helped her but some of the stars who worked on the musical franchise include Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Hailee Steinfeld, Kelley Jakle, Chrissie Fit, Shelley Regner and Hana Mae Lee.
