Bukayo Saka has committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new long-term contract with the club.
The Athletic announced in February that Saka and Arsenal had reached an agreement in principle on a new long-term deal.
The England international’s previous contract is set to expire next summer but he is now tied down until 2027 in a deal worth in the region of £15million per year.
Other clubs are interested in Saka, whose previous deal is due to expire next summer, but the 21-year-old is only interested in staying at Arsenal and believes strongly in the project being built by Mikel Arteta in the Emirates.
Arteta told Arsenal’s website: “It’s great for the club that Bukayo has extended his contract. Retaining our best young talent is key to our continued growth and Bukayo represents an important part of our team now and for the future.
“And as well as a fantastic talent, Bukayo is a special person, he’s loved by us all and he is a credit to himself and his family for the hard work and commitment they have all made to get to this level today.
“Together with our supporters, we look forward to enjoying Bukayo’s continued growth in the years to come.”
Sporting director Edu said: “Bukayo has become one of the best young players in the game and we look forward to enjoying the next phase of his career with us.”
Saka has been a pivotal part of Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge this season, contributing 14 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.
Saka is a product of the Arsenal academy, having joined the club at the age of seven and made his senior debut as a 17-year-old in November 2018.
He has become the latest Arsenal player to commit his long-term future to the club, with team-mates Gabriel Martinelli and Aaron Ramsdale also signing new contracts at the club this year.
Arsenal conclude their 2022-23 campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates on Sunday.
