Jacklyn, a Walt Disney Imagineer, and her service dog Noodle proved to be a Dynamic Duo. We recently saw their “fur-ever” friendship.
Noodle — the First Canine Walt Disney Imagineer
When Jacklyn receives an offer to be a communications professional intern at Walt Disney Imagineering, her team discovers that a furry friend will be joining her. Not only did Jacklyn join the team, but so did her service dog, Noodle.
Noodle was the first canine Imagineer in the United States, and he quickly stole the hearts of everyone on the Florida campus.
Jacklyn and Noodle’s story began in 2020 when they shared an instant connection.
“I remember I threw Dollie – now Noodle – a toy when we first met, but she had no interest in it. Instead, she curled herself right in my lap, and I knew she was coming home with me,” explained Jacklyn . “Since then, I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve been apart. He’s a lover, a cuddler, and he saves my life constantly.”
Jacklyn has issues with her cardiac and respiratory systems, so Noodle is her “right hand puppy.” Noodle is a trained service dog who goes everywhere with Jacklyn — including work.
“Walt Disney Imagineering went above and beyond to accommodate Noodle and make sure she was happy, healthy, and safe,” said Jacklyn. “I never thought I’d adopt a service animal, and it’s scary going into a new space not knowing how people will react to him. Noodle was accepted right away, and he’s a real member of the Imagineering team.”
Noodle is a beloved Imagineer and a great addition to the Florida campus. In her spare time, Noodle tends to go among the dozens of rubber ducks under Jacklyn’s desk, rest on her orthopedic bed, or visit the cubicles looking for pets and hugs. Jacklyn’s team recently threw a surprise fourth birthday party at Noodle, “complete with puppy gifts and a cake.”
“Noodles just don’t keep me safe. She makes everyone else happy, which melts my heart,” said Jacklyn. “Imagining the legends I’ve idolized all my life love Noodle as much as I do. Whether it’s smiles in the hallway or pets around the office, I hear all the time that their days are instantly better when they meet her.”
