Sonique Defends Her After Finding a Thrifty Bag

Jennifer HudsonIt certainly ruffled some feathers when it was revealed a luxury bag gifted to her, by a rising Black designer, was at a thrift store — but even the designer insisted haters should delete the singer .
Sonique Saturday tells TMZ … Jennifer is absolutely great in her book. In fact, she’s urging people to cut her some slack and stop attacking her online.

ICYMI, J Hud was blasted when a video started making the rounds — it showed a woman finding one of Sonique’s bags at a thrift store. It was clearly a gift to Jennifer because there was a special note to her inside.

People on social media were quick to jump down Jennifer’s throat … calling her out for trashing the Black woman-owned brand.
However, Sonique tells us that others are taking the viral video out of context. He explains that the bag is from 2014, and that Hudson’s team actually paid for it. They gifted it to her to celebrate one of her many career accomplishments — so, it wasn’t a freebie that Jennifer just threw away.
He’s also not sure Jennifer got the bag and has no idea how it ended up in a thrift store. Regardless, he said he wants to use this opportunity to benefit the “Spotlight” singer and to highlight Black-owned businesses.
All in all, Sonique’s appreciative people have defended her brand — but it’s a bit wrong, when you get the whole story.
