Only two pieces of 50th anniversary bunting remain at Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom and work continues on the castle’s moat.

The drapery-like bunting was removed from both sides of the castle.

They used to hang out opposite and between the towers.

The moat around the castle was drained to allow construction vehicles.

The last pieces of bunting are in front of the two castle towers. The jeweled ornaments were removed a few days ago. The golden ribbon-like turret toppers also remain.

A crane will likely be brought in to remove the turret toppers.

The rockwork around the castle moat appears to be being repaired while the moat is being drained. This large part of the rock is mostly broken, with a green tarp partially covering it.

Nearby, another hole was cut in the fake rock, exposing the steel framework inside.

Other 50th Anniversary Decor

The 50th anniversary decorations started coming down in early March with the giant 50s next to the Magic Kingdom moat. The 50th anniversary Citizen clock and banners were removed from Main Street, USA

Small 50th anniversary medallions are still attached to the Fab 50 Character Collection golden statues that were installed during the resort’s celebration party. They are interactive and respond to a MagicBand+. The statues are expected to remain for the foreseeable future.

The “50” medallion was removed from the front of Cinderella Castle, revealing the clock that had been hidden underneath for 18 months. Banners featuring Mary Blair’s “Cinderella” artwork were also removed from the towers at the Hub and replaced with simpler banners.

Disney may have wrapped up “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” but they’ve moved on to an even bigger party: The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary.

Disney100 Anniversary Celebration

At nearly all six resorts and on a global scale, Disney is celebrating “100 Years of Wonder.” This festival is the largest event produced by The Walt Disney Company. The heart of the celebration takes place at the Disneyland Resort, as it is “The Place Where It All Began.”

The party started on January 27, 2023, and is expected to last until July 2024.

At Walt Disney World, Disney100 is usually celebrated at EPCOT with Mickey and Minnie in their new platinum outfits. A new Spectacle of Light will debut on Spaceship Earth, and in late 2023, a new Disney100 nighttime spectacular will replace EPCOT Forever. This show was brought back after the end of Harmonious in early April but only came back as a temporary replacement.

In addition, Journey of Water, CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, World Celebration Garden, and Dreamers Point featuring Walt Disney’s “Dreamer” statue are slated to open in late 2023 at EPCOT.

Are you sad to see Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration come to an end? Let us know in the comments.
