A 22-year-old woman has revealed what it’s like to work as a pilot in a male-dominated industry.
Sabrina Johnson (@sabrinaleej) had nine years of flying experience when he started flying at the age of 14, when his father organized a discovery flight for him to get hands-on experience flying an aircraft.
“I always tell him that was the biggest mistake because he sent me down the rabbit hole to where I am today,” Johnson said. Inside.“I couldn’t stop it.”

Now a pilot for a major airline, Johnson often documents his travel adventures on TikTok, as well as sharing what the job entails, along with advice to aspiring pilots as well.
One person wrote: “I love showing my son your videos because no one talks about this race for girls.”
“Good for you for being able to have a solid career at such a young age,” said another person.
Another added: “You’re 22 and a commercial airline pilot? That’s amazing!!!”
However, as a female pilot, Johnson also received criticism as well as sexist comments.
In a video that now has 2.6m views, he noted how a gate agent asked if he was a flight attendant and added that this comment was a “common occurrence”.
But that’s not all because Johnson also received comments from people saying he “doesn’t really fly the plane,” to which the young pilot had the perfect response.
“They say ‘I wouldn’t trust you to fly a plane’ all the time,” Johnson told the same publication. “And I’m like, Hey, I wouldn’t trust you to be on my plane.”
Statistically, Johnson’s has been in an exceptional position ever since5.18 percent of commercial pilots are women worldwide, according to the Air Line Pilots Association International trade union.
Therefore, it is important to her that she creates content to meet women and young women who have the same aspirations to become a pilot which Johnson describes as “the coolest thing.”
