VideoGameDunkey makes surprise appearance at Nintendo Indie World Showcase

Popular YouTuber VideoGameDunkey made a surprise appearance during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase to introduce the creator of the indie game Animal Well.

Nintendo’s recent Indie World Showcase premiered to a large audience. The showcase is intended to provide information to viewers about indie titles coming to Nintendo Switch. Games like PlateUp! and Cult of the Lamb were featured throughout the showcase, with Nintendo teasing what’s to come for their flagship console.

However, among the many indie titles comes a surprise appearance from a well-known YouTuber. VideoGameDunkey the audience was surprised when they suddenly appeared in the middle of the showcase.

Dunkey was there to introduce the creator of the indie video game ANIMAL WELL, Billy Basso.

For those who don’t know, Dunkey owns a game publishing company called Bigmode, and the publishers are responsible for ANIMAL WELL. Because of this, they are there to promote the game and show what they do.

Dunkey’s appearance was a bit brief, however, coming off his classic introduction, “Hello, I am funny man Video Game Donkey from BigMode publishing” the YouTuber said as he threw a frisbee off screen.

“I’m with the creator of ANIMAL WELL today, Billy Basso.”

Basso continues to explain their role as the creator of ANIMAL WELL, while Dunkey begins stepping on rocks in a pond in the background.

The creator explained their experience with the title, “’I’ve worked on ANIMAL WELL for over 5 years at this point, single-handedly doing everything that goes into the game, including the engine. I try to give people the experience of finding something new in a place they’ve already been. A bit of a place full of puzzles that you want to come back to again and again.”

ANIMAL WELL has been announced to be available on Nintendo Switch in early 2024.
